Make a Game in iTorque – Take note Year 1

http://www.garagegames.com/community/blogs/view/21065

An amazing chance for students to watch and ask questions about making an iPhone game in iTorque during a live demonstration by the makers at 11PM Friday 10th.

If you’re still not comfortable with programming in iTorque, make sure you take a look!

EEG Video

Still seems to be in a basic form but using the Emotive EPOC headset we can see a live visual representation of the artist’s brain state and thoughts as he plays:

Y1 Sound Project Update READ

FD CG+IM Sound Project:

To ensure that you all are working on the sound project with a final project outcome I have relooked at the handout posted on the Journal and have decided to DROP the Powerpoint aspect to the project. So you will need to submit the following on a DVD for assessment:

1. A pfd document that contains:
a) Cover design
b) Abstract of what you set out to do. Describe what the sounds you created are for.
c) Resources that were used on the project in detail (SW, HW, other materials).
d) What you did in a step by step showing the processes you used. Include screen grabs and descriptions.
e) Describe the sounds you used to create your project. Comment on the genre of the sounds, what they represent and how they will narrate the visual content they support.
f) Write about how you intend to further develop your sound knowledge and skills and how its use will be important in your future work.

2. The final sound track / collection of sounds
a) Bounce down all separate sounds into a folder
b) Save a logic folder with the final project on the disc in a folder.

Put all on a DVD with a designer cover. Put a contents list on the back label .
Label size is 121×121 for both panels. I suggest you create a wrap around label 121×242 in PShop.

Year 1 lecture series write-ups on the blog

Hi guys,

During next Thursday’s session, along with project work, I will also be conducting a progress review of the C4 Programming module.

An advanced warning for you all that I would like to see finished write-ups from the lecture series earlier in the year. As well as on the blog, I would like these provided to me as polished as possible in PDF format contained within either a single folder or a compressed archive. Please ensure that your name is on these. You can find copies of the lecture series power points in the ‘Ali’s classes and stuff’ folder in multimedia on the student resources drive, which you can access remotely using https://vpn.snc.ac.uk
